    The Daughters of Penelope was established November 16, 1929 as the Women's Affiliate of AHEPA. It is the first Greek-American women's organization in the United States. One of its crowning achievements is Penelope House, a shelter for battered women in Mobile, Alabama. It is the first shelter for battered women and their children in that state

    As the Sister organization of AHEPA District 13. We align many of our goals with our brothers in AHEPA for the same level of excellence and impact in our community. We operate within the state of IL and Southeast WI. Members come from all corners of our operating area. We host a multitude of events throughout our area to ensure we reach everyone.

Steps of Strength 5K

Join Thalia for their 2nd annual Steps of Strength 5K fund raiser. This event is hosted at the Oak brook Park District on Saturday September 26, 10AM to 1PM. We will be raising funds for Penelope’s House - aiding domestic violence survivors in the US and The Smile of the Child - providing vital assistance to children in need throughout Greece.

2025 District 13 Workshop

DOP District 13 hosted their Workshop on Saturday November 1. It was a successful event and very well attended. There were representatives from DOP National, District, and Chapters. As well as AHEPA District and MOA JACMA Officers.

The event consisted of chapters reporting on their activities, new membership, reviewing the District website, and a wonderful speech from DOP National Grand Treasure Effie Kirkiles.
